After uncovering a Nietzschean plot to overthrow the Systems Commonwealth, Captain Dylan Hunt (Kevin Sorbo) attempts to sacrifice himself and his ship while his crew escapes to warn the Commonwealth's High Guard.  But he is betrayed by his first officer and closest friend, and ends up trapped in time at the edge of a black hole.

Three hundred years later, Dylan Hunt and the Andromeda are rescued by a salvage crew.  Trapped 300 years in the future, the Systems Commonwealth long fallen, Dylan Hunt begins his one man crusade to restore light and justice to the universe.
