The long awaited epic adventure finally comes to the screen.  This is one trilogy many fans have dreamed of for years, and it looks like this one actually lived up to all the hype as the first part, The Fellowship of the Ring came to theaters around the world on December 19th, 2001.

Many of us saw it on opening night (and many times since), and I don't think anyone there would argue that it is by far the most exciting, emotional and .... awesome (speechless for a moment) movie ever made to date.  Whether you have read the books or not, this is THE must see movie of this year, or any other year.

The acting is unbelievable, instantly you believe Elijah Wood IS Frodo, and Ian Mckellen IS Gandalf.  The visual effects, sets and special effects are incredible.  This film captures the imagination and seems to take you into a world of it's own - the world of Middle Earth.

As in any movie, there are a few variations from the books.  But I don't think anyone could have done a better screen adaptation of the classic books by J.R.R. Tolkien then Peter Jackson.  I've even seen on some boards people proclaim "There is a God, and his name is Peter Jackson".  He did an excellent job on this movie, and we cannot wait for The Two Towers

But that is not for another month, until then, we have The Fellowship on DVD and video, but the must have is the Director's cut on DVD and video!!!.
