After 9 years of being one of the most popular shows on television, the X-Files will be ending after this season.  This was made official by creator Chris Carter on January 16th 2002. 

After it's premier over 9 years ago, The X-Files went from a cult phenomenon to a television success. The series has spawned one successful feature film to date and has had tremendous success in syndication.  But while the TV show may be ending, there are already plans in the works for a second movie.  I am sure we have not heard the last of The X-Files.
